Documents To Go iPhone Support Forum

datavizsupportforum.jpgWe're trying something a little bit new for us here at DataViz. I'd like to introduce you to the DataViz Support Forum. This will be a place for users to post questions, problems and concerns and get help not only from DataViz employees, but also from their peers who might have interesting tips tricks and workarounds as well!

Initially this forum is specifically for Documents To Go for iPhone, but hopefully we'll be able to expand it as we go forward. There's also a section for feedback and since this is brand new, we'll need your feedback to help make this as useful as possible!

Ovi Store for Maemo

Yesterday Nokia released a software update for the Maemo 5 powered Nokia N900. The major addition in this release is access to Maemo applications via Ovi Store. Nokia has had many homes for software over the last few years (Download!, Mosh, etc) but Ovi brings the best of each together.

Among the apps you'll find in the Maemo Ovi Store: Documents To Go Viewer Edition Trial. Not that you should really need to get it from there because there's already an icon on your N900 to download the Documents To Go Viewer. But if you prefer to get your apps directly from Ovi, or wanna leave some love in the form of a rating or review, have at it!

More news from CES this week. enTourage Systems has created an Android powered e-reader on steroids called the eDGe. This dual screen e-paper/LCD device will allow users to take a big step forward in multitasking. Along with being an e-reader, the eDGe runs Android so you can load it up with your favorite apps. Video: Lenovo Lephone

Remember that Lenovo Android device we mentioned earlier? The guys at MobileCrunch got a nice, up close look at the Lephone in action.

Looks pretty slick. And whats that I see at about the 7:25 minute mark?! If I didn't know better I'd say that looked like Documents To Go!

Thanks, MobileCrunch

CES: New Android Devices

dellmini3_2.jpgLots of exciting new Android devices being announced this week. This isn't a comprehensive list, but here's some quick info about a few new Android devices that are showing up at CES:

Dell Mini 3
Looks to be an AT&T Android device with a custom skin. Should be available sometime in the first half of 2010. Here's the story from Engadget. They also have a second post that gives a little hands on (powered off) look at the Mini 3 (pictured right).

Lenovo LePhonelenovo_lephone.jpg
Lenovo is throwing their hat into the smartphone ring. Looks like this one is for our friends in China (pictured left). Another Android device with a customized version of the OS. Available late Q1/early Q2. CNET mentions that this little guy has an option to dock an external keyboard, which is a nice touch. Read a little more about it at Phonescoop.

Netbooks/Smartbooks
HP and Lenovo have also announced some smartbooks coming in 2010. Lenovo's smartbook, called the Skylight is on its way to AT&T. Features a 10 inch display and 10 hours of battery life! Its not running Android (however it is Snapdragon based), so I guess it doesn't necessary fit in this post...but its cool and I thought you might appreciate a look.

HP's smartphone, which remains nameless at this point, sports a seemingly similar feature set, and running Android! Videos for each of these devices below!

CES: BlackBerry Presenter

Deliver presentations from your BlackBerry!

bb-presenter.jpgYou've already got support for PowerPoint on your BlackBerry with Documents To Go, which can be amazingly helpful if you're a PowerPoint junkie or even if you just need to review something from time to time. You can make tweaks to your slides and practice your delivery without yanking out that laptop. But it would also be great if you could use your BlackBerry to deliver a PowerPoint presentation? RIM is about to make that possible with BlackBerry Presenter.

Its a pretty simple concept: Plug the presenter (pictured above) into a projector or monitor and present PowerPoint files wirelessly. It also comes with some great features like the ability to review your slide notes and even freeze your presentation on the screen so you can scroll through slides - your audience will be none the wiser!

BlackBerry Presenter will be available soon for $199.

UPDATE: Take a look at this video, showing BlackBerry Presenter in action!
