Downtime from Storm, Flooding
This past Sunday brought with it one of the worst spring storms we’ve seen in recent years, dropping anywhere from 3 to 7+ inches of rain and wind gusts of over 70 mph at times throughout Connecticut (where DataViz is located) and the rest of the northeastern US. The result was a slew of flooded homes, washed out roads, cancelled flights and power outages.
The power outages affected DataViz directly (as did the flooding, which caused damage at several employee’s homes). DataViz’ office in Milford, CT was without power from late Sunday night through mid-morning on Monday. Maintenance crews and our excellent IT department worked through the night to make sure that downtime was as minimal as possible. We wanted to take a moment to apologize to those of you who may have had problems accessing our website or reaching us by phone early this week. We hope that this downtime did not affect you negatively.
For those of you who aren’t in the northeastern US, we thought we’d share a few local pictures from employees and from some local newspapers to give you an idea of what we’ve been seeing the last few days.

Other areas of East Haven saw flooding that was a bit more severe, causing a great deal of damage to cars and homes in the area. (Courtesy of the Associated Press, via Bob Child).
