RIM and Nokia S60

BlackBerry services making their way back to S60...eventually

A Rueters interview with the head of Nokia Messaging, Tom Furlong, has been floating around the web the last few days thanks to some uplifting news about BlackBerry services on S60 devices. A few months ago support for this was dropped by Nokia and many customers were less than pleased about it.

Furlong makes it sound like RIM is working on picking up where Nokia left off.

"We are in the interim period of time when we have dropped support ourselves, and Blackberry is readying support for their service on Nokia devices"

Good news for folks looking to find a way to maintain their BlackBerry addictions without actually using a BlackBerry. Of course if your objective is strictly getting your exchange data there are other options like Mail For Exchange and RoadSync, which are available now. No word yet on the availability of BlackBerry services for S60.
