enTourage Systems Partners with DataViz

Documents To Go will provide Microsoft Office support on eDGe™ dualbook™.

More news from CES this week. enTourage Systems has created an Android powered e-reader on steroids called the eDGe. This dual screen e-paper/LCD device will allow users to take a big step forward in multitasking. Along with being an e-reader, the eDGe runs Android so you can load it up with your favorite apps. But no need to worry about loading up Documents To Go...its already there!

"The DataViz Documents To Go software adds a significant value for professionals, students or other enTourage eDGe users that are on-the-move and need to view important Office documents," said Asghar Mostafa, president and CEO of enTourage Systems, Inc. "Like DataViz, enTourage Systems understands the value of time and consumers' busy lifestyles; our system coupled with this software offers a robust solution to meet their needs."

The eDGe will be available soon for $490. Here's a little video so you can see the eDGe in action.

Video: Lenovo Lephone

Remember that Lenovo Android device we mentioned earlier? The guys at MobileCrunch got a nice, up close look at the Lephone in action.

Looks pretty slick. And whats that I see at about the 7:25 minute mark?! If I didn't know better I'd say that looked like Documents To Go!

Thanks, MobileCrunch

CES: New Android Devices

dellmini3_2.jpgLots of exciting new Android devices being announced this week. This isn't a comprehensive list, but here's some quick info about a few new Android devices that are showing up at CES:

Dell Mini 3
Looks to be an AT&T Android device with a custom skin. Should be available sometime in the first half of 2010. Here's the story from Engadget. They also have a second post that gives a little hands on (powered off) look at the Mini 3 (pictured right).

Lenovo LePhonelenovo_lephone.jpg
Lenovo is throwing their hat into the smartphone ring. Looks like this one is for our friends in China (pictured left). Another Android device with a customized version of the OS. Available late Q1/early Q2. CNET mentions that this little guy has an option to dock an external keyboard, which is a nice touch. Read a little more about it at Phonescoop.

Netbooks/Smartbooks
HP and Lenovo have also announced some smartbooks coming in 2010. Lenovo's smartbook, called the Skylight is on its way to AT&T. Features a 10 inch display and 10 hours of battery life! Its not running Android (however it is Snapdragon based), so I guess it doesn't necessary fit in this post...but its cool and I thought you might appreciate a look.

HP's smartphone, which remains nameless at this point, sports a seemingly similar feature set, and running Android! Videos for each of these devices below!

CES: BlackBerry Presenter

Deliver presentations from your BlackBerry!

bb-presenter.jpgYou've already got support for PowerPoint on your BlackBerry with Documents To Go, which can be amazingly helpful if you're a PowerPoint junkie or even if you just need to review something from time to time. You can make tweaks to your slides and practice your delivery without yanking out that laptop. But it would also be great if you could use your BlackBerry to deliver a PowerPoint presentation? RIM is about to make that possible with BlackBerry Presenter.

Its a pretty simple concept: Plug the presenter (pictured above) into a projector or monitor and present PowerPoint files wirelessly. It also comes with some great features like the ability to review your slide notes and even freeze your presentation on the screen so you can scroll through slides - your audience will be none the wiser!

BlackBerry Presenter will be available soon for $199.

Kodak Partners With DataViz!

Kodak & DataViz bring WiFi printing to BlackBerry

The ability to print from your BlackBerry is a request we get quite often from our BlackBerry customers. Thanks to a partnership with Kodak, we're about to make that happen! I'm happy to report that Kodak has been working with DataViz, developer of BlackBerry's most popular Office suite, Documents To Go, and in March or 2010 they'll will be bringing the Kodak Print App to BlackBerry App World.

KodakPrintApp.jpg

The Kodak Print App will use WiFi to automatically find, remember and print to your Kodak wireless printer! You'll find a 'Print' option in Documents To Go that will allow you to print your Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. You'll also be able to print PDF's if you have Documents To Go Premium Edition.

We'll update you with more info as the Kodak Print App gets closer to release.
